HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST?
Every project is on its own merit. By messaging or emailing pictures of the damaged area(s) to us, we will work up a free assessment and go over the details with you. Severity of damage is one of the biggest factors. Where some scratch damage is superficial like on the surface of the clear coat, other scratches have gone through the clear coat, the paint and the primer. Still other scratches go into the metal or plastic, creating a dent or crease on the actual metal of the vehicle or plastic of the bumper. Dents also have a variety of damage ranging from shallow depth to stretched metal or plastic. visit our Scratch Repair Mobile Service page.
As a mobile auto body service, we do not typically perform a lot of parts replacements. However, when replacement parts are required to complete the repair, we are able to provide those parts to the customer at “cost”. We do not inflate the price to you, our customer. Some scratch repair jobs are as simple as an hour where other auto body damage can take up to two weeks. But typically, most repair jobs can be completed within two to four hours on site, at your home or office, saving you the expense of gasoline, the effort in driving the vehicle into a body shop, and the down-time of dropping your vehicle off for extended periods. So while you take care of much needed projects, chores, phone calls, etc in the comfort of your own home or office, we are able to complete your mobile auto body repair within just hours.
Most repairs are performed on site at your home or office. In fact, more than ninety-five percent of these projects are completed in customer’s driveways. By law, we must be on private property. It’s a $2,500 fine if caught performing this type of work in front of your house, in the street or on public access parking lots. A public access parking lot is considered to be a grocery store lot, local medical facility, shared parking lot, etc. Any location patrolled by a local municipality is considered public access.
In short; Yes! Every car has a factory code. We get the code for your specific vehicle from the VIN (vehicle identification number). The VIN is like the DNA for your vehicle specifically. It tells us where it was painted and what color code was used. We take that factory code and enter it in the computer. The computer generates a formula and the technician mixes it on a digital scale according to that factory coded formula. Car manufacturers use the same paint system suppliers that we use as auto body shops. The top tier systems we use are PPG, Debeer and Glasurit. Each system has a database of well over 100,000 formulas for all the different world wide car manufacturers. We use these top tier systems to ensure a proper, accurate color match.
We approach every job basically the same by assessing the damage first. Once the technician determines how severe the damage is, they start with confirming that the formula they mixed is a good color match. When necessary, the technician removes any broken or damaged bumper and/or panels that are beyond repair. If the panel or bumper can be repaired, the technician begins with sanding and continues with the repair process. Once completed, they prepare the bumper and/or panel for primer, paint, and clear coat resulting in like-new condition.
